Plan effective, safe and efficient trips for yourself and groups you may lead.
Our bespoke navigation and planning weekends are the perfect learning tool and mix practical navigation skills with the BCAB navigation modules which are a prerequisite to Sea Leader awards.
ABOUT THE SESSION
This 2 day learning weekend offers to give you as many opportunities to learn and practice on the water navigation skills as possible. Starting in the classroom where we look at the BCAB Weather, Tides and Surf & Swell units in detail. We complete a series of learning activities to help increase your knowledge of the subject matter and combine this with an afternoon paddling session that gives you context of what has been taught throughout the day.
On day 2 we look at the BCAB Navigation unit where we look carefully at worked navigation examples, before planning for our PM paddle sessions We then use practical navigation strategies to navigate in both sheltered and moderate water with plenty of hints and tips from your coach.
This programme is designed with those who are keen to take more responsibility on the water or who may be looking at becoming a Sea kayak leader in the future.
